Missed a blog entry last week because I was doing a couple of road trips – Austin to Savannah, then Toronto to Austin. A total of 2,800 miles over six days. Fun!
Anyway, I’m still losing weight while EatingWhatAndWhenILike and ExercisingAsLittleAndAsInfrequentlyAsIWant. Total weight loss for these past four weeks — when I basically decided to stop dieting — is 8.4lbs. Weekly losses have been: 3.4lbs, 4.4lbs, 0.4lbs, 0.2lbs respectively. That’s a much slower loss than before, but for reasons I’ll explain later that’s both expected and good. In fact, those first two weeks were a bit worrying, so I’m glad it’s slowed.
Here’s a picture of the story since the start and subsequent demise of E2:
The blue section shows E2 phase 1, during which I lost a chunk. The pink part is E2 phase 2 which, you’ll recall, started OK and ended less so. Then I enter the doom-laden period from which, on August 3rd, I attempted to escape by launching “E2 Take 2″. Yeah, and we all know how that went. Burp.
But the intriguing part (for me anyway) is the green section — where I am now. As I say, so far I’ve lost 8.4lbs in 4 weeks, without the usual stresses and strains of food restrictions. Here, for example, is what I was making for dinner last night:
That’s homemade (by GBW this time, not me) BBQ sauce slathered over those chicken slabs. And it went with pasta salad and potato salad. I had a large chocolate-chip muffin afterwards.
So, I think I’ll soon start to try to describe what the h*ll (sorry mum) is going on here. But I warn you — because notice I say “describe” and not “explain” — that I’m not really sure what *is* going on. In the spirit of Descartes, all I *know* is, I’m not dieting, and I don’t have one of those bad*ss (sorry mum) personal trainers you see on “The Biggest Loser” yelling obscenities at me while I puke my guts up on a treadmill.
Total weight loss so far, from beginning of E2 to date = 28.8lbs. That’s just over 10% of my 286.6lbs starting weight. Someone give me a Weight Watchers-style gold star!
